And the Golden Globe goes to…

Welcome back theater goers! The New Year is here and with it comes a slew of award shows (and our new website, woohoo!). And everyone knows I love a good show!

Much to our delight Tina Fey and Amy Poehler hosted the Golden Globes for the second year in a row. Ohhhh what delight it was! They did a fabulous intro and definitely raised a few eyebrows and got some good jabs in at the expense of the audience. We particularly thought the introduction for Leo was a hoot. Check out the opening monologue below.

The pets and I were getting ready to settle into our fast-forward routine, when suddenly a train wreck happened. Jacqueline Bisset took home the award for Best Supporting Actress in a Series, Mini Series or TV Movie, which also happened to be the first award of the night. And her acceptance speech? Well… you can check that out here!

And how can we possibly do a review without mentioning the quirky, funny J-Law. With an Oscar for Best Actress and now a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress, she can pretty much do whatever she wants (in our eyes). She photo-bombed Taylor Swift, dropped her jewels on the red carpet while interviewing with Ryan Seacrest and gave a deliciously awkward award speech. Also, this exists:

One other lovely lady that caught our eye that evening for her antics was Emma Thompson. She came out on stage bare-footed with a martini glass in tow. It gave us a chuckle and a much needed shake-up.

Some of the big winners of the night were Her, 12 Years a Slave, The Wolf of Wall Street, Gravity, All Is Lost, The Dallas Buyers Club, and American Hustle. For a complete list of the winners click here.
