So this weekend, I was outside washing my car (which is still missing a hub cap) when I saw my neighbor packing his things. I went over to ask if he was moving, and he nonchalantly told me he was leaving for 10 months for work. This answer piqued my curiosity, because he works from home…or so I thought.
After talking for a while about who was going to be my new neighbor while he was gone, he threw in that he was cast in the national tour of Mamma Mia. WHAT?! My neighbor, a star in a show?! And not just any show! Mamma Mia! One of the most fun shows you will ever attend! A show you pay for a seat you don’t sit in, because you’re too busy dancing in the aisles!
I tried quite hard to contain my excitement…keyword: tried. I lasted all of three seconds before I burst out into song and dance right there in the street. I couldn’t wipe the smile off my face. I love this musical, and now my neighbor was going to be part of it! He could get me backstage! I could meet the cast and take pictures with them! I was consumed by thoughts of Mamma Mia; I couldn’t think straight and then it hit me: I was dancing in the street, and most of my other neighbors had come out to see what all the commotion was about. It was time for me to go inside.
Let me tell you, this show is a blast to see live, but if you can’t get to the show or can’t get ENOUGH of the show, you can also watch the DVD. The cast was delightful, and the movie was so wonderfully put together. Meryl Streep and Amanda Seyfried make the perfect mother daughter pair, and the Greek scenery is breathtaking:
And if, like me, you transform into a Broadway musical star while driving, here is the entire sound track. You’ll never want to get out of your car!
